SPONSORS
Donating Corporate ($2,500), or Small Business ($500) levels of financial support to the Cascade Farmers Market helps ensure the market’s happy return each year for you, your colleagues, and your customers! Our vending farmers keep the money you give them, but the non-profit-status, all-volunteer entity bringing those farmers to you has bills and fees to be paid. Please read below to find out what else you get for your generous donations and to understand, in part, what it takes to keep our market an anchored South Lake Union asset. *Thank you!*
Corporate Membership (Above 10 Employees) for $2,500
Small Business Membership (Under 10 Employees) for $500
Why we need financial support
Cascade Farmers Market has three categorical expenses: municipal fees and permits; management fees to Pike Place Express; and marketing/advertising.
Street closure, public assembly, and health inspection are a few of the municipal fees for this year. We are not tapping into water, electricity or using propane, each of which would require more fees and inspection. While Seattle does its best to encourage rather than prohibit farmers markets from growing, the municipal costs are a little less than a third of our budget.
Worth every penny, Pike Place Express brings to CFM: experience, a relationship within an extensive network of farmers, equipment, as well as many hours of physical labor, planning, and networking. Our relationship with Pike Place Express is vital to our continued success. FYI, Pike Place Express does not make a profit as our manager, barely covering their own costs.
Finally, marketing and advertising require investments to ensure more people know we exist and are open. With word-of-mouth support from you to your friends, our collection of signs, and a better grasp of social-net media, this yearly fee will continue shrink. Until then, marketing and advertising remain expenses, and also approximately one third of our budget.
