VOLUNTEER
Volunteers are needed every week to make the market run! Below are a calendar and registration form to volunteer for your two hour shift and start helping!
Residents of Mirabella and other SLU condos are especially encouraged to sign up!
Volunteer type one: Street Greeter
There are two posts for street greeters, ‘Thomas’ and ‘Harrison’. Because we are closing a street to operate the market, the SDOT requires one person to be posted at each end of the closed street, Minor, at all times. As that person, you will be asked to stay at the end of the street wearing a reflective vest, greet people as they walk in and count them with a clicker we provide, but most importantly, ensure no vehicles drive into the market. During ‘Set-up’ and ‘Take-down’ times, you, the street greeter, will also move the orange cone to allow vendors only to drive their vehicles in and load/unload their products, and drive away.
Volunteer type two: Information Booth
This volunteer will answering questions about the market, yes, but you will also: sign in/out Street Greeter volunteers; collect contact information of shoppers interested in future volunteering; give away Pike Place Market bags to shoppers who come without a bag; give out information about membership to support the Cascade Farmers Market; greet people as they walk by, and thank them for coming! If you want to meet more people in your neighborhood, this is your position.
